Nairobi – Maasai Mara (1-Hour Flight)

The adventure begins! Your Natural World Kenya Safaris driver will pick you up from your hotel, residence, or the airport and transfer you to Wilson Airport for your 10:30 am flight to the iconic Maasai Mara.

Enjoy aerial views of Kenya’s vibrant landscapes as you fly over the patchwork of fields and traditional homesteads. Upon arrival, your personal driver/guide will welcome you at the airstrip with your private, open-sided 4x4 Land Cruiser Jeep. From here, we’ll head to your safari camp or lodge to settle in and prepare for the wildlife wonders ahead.

Soar over the scenic Kenyan countryside, catching glimpses of farmlands, villages, and perhaps even the Great Rift Valley. Upon landing, your personal driver/guide will greet you at the airstrip with your private 4x4 Land Cruiser Jeep. Then it’s a short scenic drive to your safari lodge or tented camp to settle in for the wild days ahead.

We’ll wrap up the day with a warm, hearty dinner at our Mara accommodation, reflecting on our first wildlife encounters. Afterward, it’s time to unwind and soak in the peaceful surroundings of the African bush, resting up for the adventures to come.

We’ll spend a full day exploring the wonders of the Masai Mara, beginning with an early morning game drive to catch the park as it stirs to life. This is prime time to spot predators like lions, cheetahs, and leopards, as well as elephants, buffalo, giraffes, rhinos, and countless grazers roaming the savannah. Keep an eye out for birds in dazzling colors overhead. As evening sets in, we’ll take in one of the Mara’s signature sunsets bold, fiery, and unforgettable across the sweeping plains.

Come evening, we’ll return to our safari lodge or tented camp to unwind, savor a freshly prepared dinner, and reflect on the day's unforgettable sightings and adventures in the wild.

Full Day at Masai Mara

We’ll be up with the birds to begin our day in the Masai Mara, setting out early to catch the park’s wildlife at its most active. The soft morning light spills over the grasslands, revealing elephants on the move, prides of lions finishing their night hunts, and birdlife stirring in the trees above.

After breakfast, we’ll make our way to the famous Mara River. If you're visiting between July and October, you may witness one of nature’s greatest dramas the Great Migration. Wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles in staggering numbers charge through the waters, desperately trying to cross into the Mara from the Serengeti. The river, however, holds its own danger stealthy crocodiles lie in wait, and the banks are never far from the alert eyes of predators like lions and cheetahs.

It’s a moment of raw nature, of survival in its purest form, and one you’ll remember forever.

For those seeking a truly unforgettable perspective, we recommend our optional hot air balloon safari. You’ll rise with the sun and drift silently above the plains, witnessing this living tapestry from the air an experience few ever forget.

Later in the day, you might choose to visit a traditional Maasai village. Here, you’ll meet the proud and welcoming Maasai people, known for their vibrant dress, rhythmic dances, and rich cultural traditions. Learn about their way of life, see how they build their manyattas (homes), and browse intricate beadwork handcrafted by the community.

As the light fades and the savannah glows gold once more, we’ll return to our safari lodge or tented camp for dinner, reflection, and relaxation under the vast African sky.

After a full day immersed in the wonders of the Masai Mara, we’ll return to our accommodation for our third evening in the park. This is a perfect time to unwind, take in the peaceful surroundings, and enjoy dinner beneath the stars. Share the day’s highlights with your guide or fellow travelers, and listen to the distant calls of wildlife as night settles over the savannah. Another magical chapter in your safari adventure comes to a close here at your comfortable lodge or tented camp.

We’ll spend the morning soaking in the last moments of the Masai Mara, perhaps returning to your favorite spots or following up on previous sightings. After an early lunch, we’ll head to the airstrip for our scenic 2:00 pm flight to Amboseli National Park. Enjoy aerial views of Kenya’s countryside and, weather permitting, majestic Mt. Kilimanjaro on the horizon.

Upon landing, your new Natural World Kenya Safaris guide will greet you and escort you to your next open-sided 4x4 Jeep. After settling into your Amboseli lodge or camp, we’ll head out for a thrilling late-afternoon game drive. The park is famed for its large elephant herds, and sightings often happen quickly—sometimes even en route to your accommodation. Expect a warm Amboseli welcome from its diverse and abundant wildlife.

As the sun sets over the plains, we’ll return to your Amboseli safari lodge or tented camp for a relaxing evening. Enjoy a delicious dinner while taking in the sights and sounds of the park, reflecting on the day's incredible wildlife encounters beneath the shadow of Kilimanjaro.

Full Day at Amboseli

Safari life calls for an early start, so rise with the sun to witness the park’s animals as they stir and come alive in the soft morning light. Take a moment to admire the majestic silhouette of Mt. Kilimanjaro rising grandly in the south, its snow-capped peak providing a breathtaking and iconic backdrop to the wildlife below.

Much like your experience in the Masai Mara, today is yours to savor at your own pace. Whether you choose to embark on unlimited game drives to chase new sightings or prefer some peaceful downtime at your lodge or camp, the day offers flexibility to suit your mood.

Amboseli may be smaller in size, but it’s a vibrant hub of wildlife activity. While it’s renowned for its large herds of elephants—the park’s gentle giants—you’ll also have the chance to spot lions, buffalo, rhinos, giraffes, zebras, baboons, monkeys, and warthogs. Keep an eye out in the marshy wetlands, where elusive hippos wallow and a variety of water birds gather.

A visit to Observation Hill is a must. Climbing this vantage point rewards you with sweeping views across the park’s sprawling plains and shimmering marshlands. From here, you can watch elephants wandering below, and take in the impressive birdlife including graceful pelicans, stately ostriches, and the unmistakable Egyptian goose.

As evening falls, turn your gaze once more to Kilimanjaro. On a clear day, the clouds may part to reveal the full glory of Africa’s tallest peak, a truly unforgettable sight to close out your day in Amboseli.

We’ll return to our safari lodge or tented camp to relax and savor our final evening in the heart of the wilderness.

Amboseli – Diani Beach (1½ Hour Flight)

We’ll start our final safari day with an early morning game drive, soaking in the sights and sounds of Amboseli as the park awakens. If there are any favorite spots you’d like to revisit, just let your driver/guide know, and we’ll make it happen.

After a leisurely breakfast and lunch at your accommodation, we’ll head to the airstrip for our 3:00 pm flight to Diani Beach.

As we say our second farewell to our Amboseli guide, we’ll board our plane for the scenic 90-minute flight to the stunning Kenya Coast, where the relaxing shores of Diani await.

You’ll be treated to breathtaking aerial views of Mt. Kilimanjaro before the landscape gives way to stunning vistas of the Indian Ocean as you approach Diani Airport.

Upon landing, a Natural World Kenya Safaris driver will warmly welcome you and transfer you to your hotel or resort, where relaxation by the coast awaits.
